Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) has officially commenced the Pre-Launch Training for the onboarding of its services onto the Government Service Bus (GSB), following the official opening of the programme by the Executive Director, Mr. Humphrey Nkobeni.
ZMA would soon be onboarding its services on the GSB .
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nkobeni highlighted that the Government Service Bus is a secure and integrated digital platform that enables seamless interaction among government systems. He emphasized that for ZMA, onboarding onto the GSB is a strategic institutional decision aimed at strengthening interoperability with other government institutions, improving efficiency and accuracy of services, reducing duplication of effort, and enhancing service delivery to citizens, businesses, and regulators.
The Executive Director noted that the training is a critical step in ensuring a coordinated, secure, and sustainable transition to the GSB. He explained that the programme is designed to build staff technical capacity, clarify roles and workflows, prepare teams for operational readiness at go-live, and promote compliance with government ICT standards and protocols.
Mr. Nkobeni stressed that the success of the GSB go-live will depend not only on system readiness but also on human readiness. He encouraged staff to actively participate in the training, seek clarity where necessary, embrace learning and innovation, and take ownership of their respective roles in the transition process.
He reaffirmed management’s commitment to supporting staff throughout the transition and ensuring that knowledge gained during the training is translated into improved service delivery. In return, he called for professionalism, accountability, adherence to established procedures, and a collective commitment to excellence.
In conclusion, Mr. Nkobeni described the training programme as a critical foundation for the successful go-live of ZMA services on the Government Service Bus and urged participants to approach it with focus, discipline, and a shared sense of purpose.
He then officially declared the training programme open and wished participants productive and successful deliberation.
