Earlier today, the Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) conducted a verification exercise on the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) speed cameras.
The exercise was aimed at ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all speed cameras currently being used by RTSA across different provinces of the country.
Following the exercise, all verified speed cameras were affixed with a ZMA Certificate sticker as proof of compliance, confirming that the instruments meet the required accuracy standards.
As the national authority mandated to regulate measurements, ZMA plays a key role in safeguarding fairness and accuracy in instruments used for enforcement, trade, health, safety, and the environment. By verifying speed cameras, the Agency helps to guarantee that readings captured are precise and trustworthy, thereby enhancing road safety enforcement and public confidence.
This exercise underscores ZMA’s commitment to supporting partner institutions like RTSA in their mandate to promote road safety and save lives.
