As part of its ongoing nationwide compliance enforcement, the Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA) has conducted a random local industry inspection at SL Milling Ltd in Chingola.
The focus of the inspection was to ensure that consumers are getting exactly what they pay for particularly that a 5Kg , 10Kg , 25 kg bag of mealie meal weighs as pre- packaged , and not underweight.
This exercise is crucial in promoting fair trade practices and protecting consumer rights, and it reflects ZMA’s commitment to upholding measurement standards across all sectors.
Such inspections are being carried out regularly across the country to maintain integrity in packaged commodities .
ZMA urges all manufacturers and retailers to comply to the metrology requirements to ensure transparency and fairness in the marketplace.
